In the mountains west of Antigua, the Mayan pueblo of Comalapa is at the heart of Guatemala’s naïf art traditions.

Private Studios
Meet some of Antigua’s intriguing artists and visit the private studios where they create their work. Talk with the artists about their experiences and creative drive and be the first to view their latest works in progress. On this 4-hour tour, available in the morning or afternoon, you will visit several local artists’ studios in and around Antigua. Call or email us at least three days ahead to arrange your tour. US $50 per person.
Antigua Museum and Galleries
Discover the diverse media and innovative trends of Latin American art by exploring Antigua’s latest exhibitions. This 4-hour walking tour features several galleries and a museum and is available mornings or afternoons. US $25 per person. Tours start at 9:00 am
Guatemala City Contemporary Art Galleries
A bold new generation of young artists whose powerful expressions reflect their vision of urban society and culture is emerging from Guatemala City. This tour visits several leading Guatemala City galleries featuring the cutting-edge work of these artists. Wednesdays, 8:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. US $100 per person, includes lunch.
Comalapa Studios
Nestled in Guatemala’s highlands just 1.5 hours outside of Antigua, the picturesque town of San Juan Comalapa is the cradle of Guatemalan folk art. Here, Kaqchikel artists have portrayed their traditions, history, and values for decades in brilliant, naïf paintings. You will gain a new perspective on the region’s turbulent history from the longest mural in Guatemala, visit a local museum, and meet the artists in their galleries and studios. The tour includes a break for lunch in a Comalapa restaurant serving both local and international fare (lunch cost not included). 8 a. m. – 3 p. m. US $50 per person.

For more than 20 years, she has represented some of Latin America’s most highly sought-after artists and curated numerous solo and collective exhibitions.
