He studied at the National School of Fine Arts in Guatemala, and has exhibited in various galleries and important events in Guatemala.  He has also won numerous awards.

Not satisfied with his art, Juan Yoc “continues to create and improve”; he is extremely perfectionist, presenting art  of great intensity and high artistic quality.

He diligently researches into new techniques and media  to perfect his work, using many techniques such as engraving, acrylic, painting, drawing and illustration. Intuition and improvisation are his mark.

The oniric symbolism of his paintings, influenced on Renaissance design, open up a surreal world, making his work unique, because according to Juan Yoc: “reality is like our painted dreams or like a waking dream.”

Yoc settled in Spain in 1991,where he has produced most of his works. The strong subject matter of his work has occasionally led to constant provocation, nevertheless the series presented above pertains to faces, that he has imagined, dreamt or reminisced.  For Juan F. Yoc “painting is his life”.
