Rogelio Barillas

Is a Guatemalan figurative artist.  He completed his studies at the Guatemalan National School of Fine Arts. Later, he studied Pedagogy and Education at the University of San Carlos in Guatemala City. He also holds a Bachelor´s degree in Fine Arts. Since 1977 he has participated in numerous group and individual shows. His work can be found in private collections in Guatemala, Brazil, Costa Rica, Spain, United States, Finland, Italy and Mexico.

His work reflects the beauty of the nude figure impossible to cannonize in this day and age: he proposes an antithesis, saturated with humor, against the canons of build up and anorexia. Very noticeable in his work is his passion for detail, his technique is impeccable. His work reflects the love, nobility and innocence always possible in mankind. Rogelio Barillas works exceed all expectations of Contemporary Guatemalan Art.
